TravelCenters of America Inc., the largest publicly-traded full-service travel center network in the United States, has entered into an agreement with Electrify America to offer electric vehicle (EV) charging at select TA/Petro locations.
Over the next five years approximately 1,000 individual chargers will be installed at 200 locations along major highways.

Electrify America, will manage the entire process of designing and developing the charging stations, including obtaining permitting approvals, providing warranty and 24/7 support services, and conducting on-site maintenance. TA will purchase Electrify America’s DC fast chargers and will be included on the Electrify America charging network, allowing customers to access and pay for charging through the Electrify America app.
The network of charging stations will be open to almost all brands of EV vehicles and can deliver up to 350 kW to capable vehicles, providing some of the fastest charging speeds commercially available. The new charging stations will provide range confidence to EV drivers traveling long distances, expanding access to hyper-fast charging.
TA’s large locations with amenities such as Wi-Fi, food, and modern restrooms, in addition to Electrify America’s experience building fast charging network, provides a compelling solution to EV drivers.
Electrify America is investing more than $2 billion in Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure, education, and access. The investment will support the build-out of a nationwide network of ultra-fast community and highway chargers and is expected to result in over 1,800 total charging stations with over 10,000 individual chargers in the United States and Canada combined by 2026.
