Today, Gothenburg-based Swedish premium mobility brands, Polestar and Candela, revealed the next exciting phase of their partnership: the Candela C-8 Polestar edition. This union offers an exhilarating and sustainable glimpse into the future of electric mobility at sea.

Like the first time driving an electric car, you instantly feel that this is the future when the boat ‘takes off’ – and now with the special gold details that we so proudly exhibit on our cars,” says Maximilian Missoni, Head of Design at Polestar.
Signature aesthetics and performance
Candela C-8 Polestar edition has a unique solid light grey colour, elevated with bespoke seat upholstery and hydrofoils painted in the iconic Swedish gold. This fresh design combines Polestar’s distinctive Scandinavian luxury with Candela’s innovative hydrofoil technology, creating a cutting-edge electric boat.
Powerful collaboration
This partnership has seen Polestar provide battery and charging technology for Candela’s electric hydrofoil boats. Starting from 2023, all Candela C-8 boats will be powered by the 69-kWh battery and charging hardware from the standard-range Polestar 2.
Energy-efficient drive
The Candela C-8 boats use a 75 kW electric direct drive pod motor and ‘fly’ on computer-guided hydrofoils, reducing energy consumption by up to 80% compared to traditional motorboats. This innovative design offers an impressive high-speed range 2-3 times longer than conventional electric speedboats.
Availability and pricing
The Candela C-8 Polestar edition is available for order on the Polestar Additionals webshop and Candela’s official website. Pricing starts from EUR 400,000/ USD 450,000, with deliveries anticipated from June 2024.
