Two all-electric variants of the BMW i5 are set to be launched, including the top model BMW i5 M60 xDrive. This variant combines a 442 kW/601 hp drive with M performance and specific design features. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The other variant, BMW i5 eDrive40, is also impressive with its electric motor generating a maximum output of 250 kW/340 hp.

The new BMW 5 Series Sedan comes equipped with innovative eCharging solutions. The vehicle can be charged using AC with an output of up to 11 kW, and its high-voltage battery can be charged with direct current with a power of up to 205 kW. A unique feature includes the Multi Contract Option, allowing customers to digitally store up to five individual Plug & Charge-enabled power contracts from different providers in the vehicle.

BMW’s shift towards an all-electic 5 Series Sedan is a significant step forward for the future of the auto industry. By opting for electrification and introducing high-end digital solutions, BMW is not only redefining mobility but also championing sustainability. This launch also reflects the trend of automakers transitioning from fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources, thus setting a precedent for other industry players to follow suit.
